HOPE FOR HEALING

This page is dedicated to women (of all ages) healing from past or present abuse of any kind. My heart aches for you, and my prayers are with you. Know that you are loved by a sovereign Lord who holds your life in His hands. Freedom is found in Him and Him alone! Pray for my book in progress, "Bridge the Gap!" SHEDDING LIGHT

Imagine this…..two big circles that represent your life’s events.  One circle is full of joy, happiness, beautiful memories, things that make you smile.  The other circle is full of darkness, painful thoughts, secrets, hidden emotions, frightening memories, and things that make you sad.

Now. Imagine God in all His majesty carefully picking up the dark circle full of pain and hidden secrets in His gentle and loving care….and one by one bringing every memory, emotion, and thought out of that dark circle and gently placing it into the circle of joy and laughter, light and happiness…until there’s nothing left in that dark circle.  No fear, no tears, no guilt or shame, no secrets.  What a wonderful place that is….it’s called “freedom”.  There’s no reason to hold onto that dark circle any longer, so the Savior tosses it aside….for you see, He resides in that circle of Light. 

2 Corinthians 3:17 tells us,

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom!  (NIV)

One by one, He wants to take what hurts you to the core and replace the pain with something beautiful.  He wants you to be free…

Isaiah 61:1 tells us,

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners. (NIV)

This is what He desires for each of us.  These areas of emotional pain imprison us in our minds…they keep us in that dark circle.  They keep us in secrets.  And that’s not freedom!  There’s a lot of energy spent in keeping things hidden from others so they cannot see what we’re dealing with!  And God Himself wants to release you…and me….from those things that bind our spirits.  He want us to bring this circle of darkness to Him….so He can shed His Light upon it, revealing Truth on every issue, every feeling and thought that keeps us captive to what happened to us.

Again, John 8:36 tells us,

If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed! (NIV)

Not just a little bit free….but free indeed.  That’s His grace.  That’s Him shedding Light on all that hurts so badly.  That’s Him tossing aside our dark circle.  That’s us stepping inside that circle of joy…where the Savior resides.

Psalm 68:19 tells us,

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens! (NIV)

And Psalm 18:16 tells us,

He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. (NIV)

That’s the picture I wanted you to envision.  God reaching down and taking us out of that dark circle of secrecy and shame, those “deep waters”, daily bearing the pain of what we experienced in order that we might have that freedom….

That’s God.  Shedding His Light and Truth upon our lives.  Soak it in….absorb it.  Live in it. Love in it.  Laugh in it.  Let it consume you! You’ll find peace.  Rest.  Assurance. Fears will disappear. Tears will subside.  Memories will fade.  And Truth will reign…..
